Austin, TX – Swimming With Bears offers up a unique twist of Alternative, Pop, and Soul elements that blend together in perfect harmony. They are on a mission to spread their music throughout the United States and are currently on tour with stops in Los Angeles and New York, among other cities. The four-piece laid its humble beginnings in 2011, but quickly caught the attention of Matt Noveskey of Blue October, who immediately offered to produce their record. The momentum only continued to grow as the band raised over $20k for the costs of their debut album. Lead singer/bassist, Joe Perry leads the way with his eccentric vocals which are such a breath of fresh air in this day and age. Their latest work is a self-titled EP released just a couple weeks ago and is already making huge waves in the industry with influences ranging from Kings of Leon, Death Cab for Cutie, Mumford & Sons and Explosions in the Sky. The band is playing two New York shows this week including Tuesday (8/2) at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn supporting Cruisr, and Wednesday (8/3) at the Rockwood Music Hall for an industry showcase. In a world where originality is gold, Swimming With Bears is in the middle of proving that they are worth their weight in gold, and are just getting started. Check out their newest single “Shiver and Crawl” out now on their Self-Titled EP.
